There is a wide choice of intellectually stimulating, recreational, and skill-enhancing courses and lectures. Subjects range from literature, history, and music, to computer use, crafts, fitness, cooking, dancing, and bridge.

Established in 1938, the School is an independent, not-for-profit organization chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. The Scarsdale Adult School is supported solely by course fees and tax deductible gifts.
